About Us

Mike is the owner of the American Dive Zone and a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer with the qualifications to teach most specialties. He is also an IANTD Instructor for Advanced Deep/Decompression Diving, Advanced Nitrox (mulitiple gases) and Advanced Recreational Trimix Diving. The Public Safety Divers Association has awarded Mike the credentials to teach Police and Fire Dept. personnel Dive Team 1, the entry level course in that field.

Chuck Wiersum is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer with years of experience instructing scuba in the local area. He will now be working with American Dive Zone teaching PADI Open Water Classes, Advanced Open Water, Emergency First Response courses, Nitrox Specialties, and much more.

Clifford Jack has recently moved up to Instructor and you will see him at the shop and at most of the shop functions. Quite often he will be seen diving the area lakes or on many of our trips.

Jeff Timmerman is now a PADI Instructor and has begun to lead trips.

Gary Taylor is the author of many books and manuals on Technical Diving with over 33 years of experience in the field. He is also a Board Member of IANTD.
Gary has agreed to come to the American Dive Zone as an Adjunct Instructor and teach technical classes such as Trimix or Gas Blending and more as we build them into the schedule.

Ryan Long has recently moved from California as a PADI Instructor and has been helping quite a bit.
